Reports from Committees and Directors:

Lynn Easley noted website updates of adding a download button of the membership application, and adding a classified ad section to the website.

Rich Munson mentioned the upcoming third Friday this Friday at Clear Springs, and the Christmas party on the third Saturday in December. It was also mentioned that one of the race buoys has gone missing during the last Saturday race.

Old Business

Slip Waiting List:

No changes to the slip waiting list. It is possible one slip renter may move their boat to their dock in the future.

No Wake Buoys at the Marina:

A new no wake buoy has been installed at the marina, apparently by the marina owners. It was suggested to add some more weight to their anchors to prevent them from moving or disappearing. A couple of cinder blocks would probably be sufficient.

Rick Walker also noted that TP&W game wardens will follow up on any violators of the no wake area, provided photographic proof that shows the TX number is submitted to them. Also suggested that signs or brochures could be posted at boat launch sites with the basic boating rules on the water.

New Business

New Summer Activities:

Several summer activities were mentioned, such as a Rangers game, having a TP&W presentation, or other presentation on boating safety, or skills, or public awareness. Or perhaps even some type of “poker run” event. Although it was noted, on a poker run with sailboats, it might be a slow event!

Rich Munson mentioned that attendance tends to drop off a bit in the summer with members on vacation or otherwise out of town and other family events taking place. So some of those events would have better attendance in the fall.

Upcoming Events:

July and August will have their Third Friday socials.

Various July 4th fireworks events are scheduled around the lake on different evenings.

June 30: This year THE PORCH PEOPLE will be doing their show on Saturday, June 30th on the point at Emerald Bay, Lake Palestine, TX.

July 3: Eagles Bluff.

July 4: Emerald Bay Club will do their Fireworks on the 4th.

The last of the Saturday Race Series of this spring is the afternoon of June 23rd.

Also mentioned, was the Bella Vista Venue location on Lake Palestine is planning on adding a restaurant and slips for it that could be a future destination for the club.

Next Director Meeting:

The next meeting will be held at Clear Springs Restaurant at noon, on Wednesday, July 11th..
