With daylight savings time just around the corner, we are going to reinstate our Wednesday evening sailboat race program.
The season opening race will be next week on March 14th - starting time 5:00 p.m. The course will be in Saline Bay just off the Lake Palestine Marina docks. The weather forecast looks good - sunny all day with a high of 63 degrees, winds at 5 to 10 from the east veering southeast in the evening. Sunset is at 7:28 p.m.
This is intended to be a fun event and not serious racing. It will be a chance for us to get out on our boats for an enjoyable evening. Scores will not be kept, handicaps will not be applied, and no prizes will be given - just bragging rights and lies back on the dock.
Everyone is welcomed to participate. If you don't have a boat at the marina and want to race, come on down. I'm sure you'll be able to hop on someone's boat for the evening.
The more the merrier. I hope to see you next Wednesday evening at the lake.
