The LPYC kicked off the start of 2020 with their annual meeting.

Special guest for the meeting was Paul Lohr, a ex-LPYC member who literally sold and invested everything in building a 60 foot paddle wheel boat to start a business for river and lake boat cruises. The historic city of Natchitoches, LA welcomed this new venture and the end result was the Cane River Queen. So if you are ever over that way be sure to check it out. The club enjoyed a fine Mexican buffet dinner at Emerald Bay, and after the meal, Commodore John Springer called the meeting to order.

First order was reports from officers, and then an update with issues with the mast hoist at the marina. John Springer recognized members of the club that contribute in supporting the club.

Of course one of the main purposes of the annual meeting is the election of directors and officers for the 2020 year. For the 2020 year, Rick Walker will be Commodore, Chuck Brazell will be Vice Commodore. John Springer will Treasury, and Lynn Easley will be Secretary. Ben Hooks and John Springer were re-elected to their director positions.

First order of the newly installed officers was the recognition of John Springer by new Commodore Rick Walker for his duties as Commodore. Rick Walker then gave a brief history of the club for the newer members. A tribute to past members of the LPYC that are no longer with up was next, including Steve Herber, Warren Lyon, and Bob Pryor.

Several amendments to the bylaws were proposed and approved in order to update the bylaws.

The final item of the meeting was the awarding of a watercolor painting by LPYC's own member Dana Adams. The winner by a drawing was Rick and Dicksie Walker.
