Barge update and next barge work day:

Ben Hooks and John Owens brought up issues with the new plywood barge floor warping.

Two proposals to fix the problem were discussed. First proposal was to replace the floor with marine plywood, tearing out the current floor. Second proposal was using a 2x4 toe rail to clamp the outer edges down, and on the interior seams, sealing off the edges and bonding the edges together and covering them with flashing material to prevent water intrusion. Followed by a coating of epoxy to seal the entire surface.

After much discussion on the pros and cons of each method, with the main con of replacing the deck with marine plywood would be the cost. And the main con with sealing the joints being the repair might have to be redone later on.

A motion to fix the floor by sealing the seams was proposed and the motion passed without any opposition.

The scheduled barge workday for August 13th was canceled due to the oppressive heat. The following workdays were proposed, September 17th, October 1st, and October 15th. Steve Lowe will send out an email with the proposed days.
