Old Business

No Wake Buoys:

Still having issues with boats creating wakes in the no wake zone. Suggestions are to move the no wake buoys out further away, and possibly add more. There are currently two no wake buoys around the marina.

Lake Palestine Yacht Club Signs:

Dana Adams dropped off two other LPYC signs from the old Emerald Bay Marina location. One has the old telephone number on it, the other still has “Emerald Bay” on it, both are just vinyl lettering decals, and can be be removed or covered over with tape, or paint. John Owens suggested mounting the smaller one on the outside of the grill on the barge. It would be visible to incoming boat traffic. The larger one could be mounted next to the entry gate going into the slips. Just need to verify approval with the marina owners.

New Members:

LPYC welcomed Ron and Darlene McKay as the newest members to the club. Two additional persons are expected to soon join. One of the prospective members asked for some help looking over his roller furling to make sure he has everything he needs before raising the mast. Several members volunteered.

Wednesday Night Races:

The Wednesday night training races have had good turnout. Six boats made the first event, and despite the high winds, four skippers turned up for the second event. With the high winds, the skippers just elected to wait to later in the evening when the winds died down and just do a delightful night cruise.

Committee Meeting Updates:

The next Committee meeting will follow the this directors meeting. Everything looks to be in good shape. Bob Pryor has laid out possible race courses. Registration forms have been emailed out to members and posted to the website. Several power boats will help with setting buoys and ferrying people. Still hoping to get some photographers for the regatta. The next committee meeting will be April 27 to handle any last minute details.
