Old Business

Slip Waiting List:

No changes to the slip waiting list.

Regatta Preparations:

1) Regatta Planning.

Most of the volunteered positions needed for the Regatta have been filled, but still needing except some people needed on the committee boat. It is hopeful that that we may get some volunteers from Lake Tyler Yacht Club, as several members from LPYC will help out with their event. Also hoping to get someone to photograph the event.

Still needing to track down the buoys for the race.

2) Finalize Name of Regatta.

The club will stay with the name Oktoberfest and the event will be dedicated to Bob Pryor who passed away earlier this year.

3) Food Menu for the Regatta

Breakfast will consist of donuts, fruit and coffee. Lunch meals will be provided by Jason’s deli for around $7.00 per meal with a $7.00 delivery charge. The meals will consist of a selection of ham and turkey sandwiches and probably chips.

4) Review T-Shirt Design

The t-shirt design was finalized featuring a ship’s wheel and dedicated to Bob Pryor.

5) Duration of the Event.

It was decided to shorten the Regatta event to a one day event. Due difficulties in getting enough volunteers for the committee boat and other duties it was felt a one day event would be more practical. The race courses will be shorter to allow the possibility of running more races in one day. In the event of a tie, there are rules for breaking ties.

Sail Seminar in November:

The sail seminar will be held on Tuesday, November 13th from 6:00 pm till around 7:00 at Emerald Bay Community Center. It will focus on light air sailing trim, and last around 45 minutes. The club will buy the speakers dinner, and as the speaker lives nearby at Cedar Creek Lake, the club won’t need to provide lodging.
