MONTHLY MEETING MINUTES
Present at meeting: John Springer, Chuck Brazell, Ben Hooks, Steve Lowe, and Lynn Easley.
Call to order by John Springer.
Present Minutes from last meeting
The minutes were presented by Lynn Easley.
Motion to accept by Steve Lowe, seconded by Chuck Brazell.
Financial Report
The financial report was presented by John Springer.
Receipts:
Receipts through May 8, 2019 were $2,345.00, which consists of current dues from twenty-three members.
Disbursements:
Disbursements through May 8, 2019 were $912.84 for operations are as follows.
1. $385.00 Storage Locker Rent.
2. $281.22 Social – January Annual Meeting & Cheeseburger in Paradise.
3. $125.02 Slip Rental.
4. $70.00 Post Office Box Rental.
5. $21.60 Trophies – Engraving “Spring Cup”.
Surplus:
For operations, receipts exceeded disbursements resulting in an operation surplus of $1,432.16
General Comments:
The cash balance as of May 8, 2019 is $15,912.46 The cash balance one year ago was $15,568.84 We have twenty-three dues paying members thus far in 2019.
Motion to accept Treasury report by Chuck Brazell, seconded by Steve Lowe.
Officer and Director Reports.
John Springer – Reminded the club that he will miss the next four monthly meetings. Chuck Brazell will handle the duties till he returns.
Chuck Brazell – Suggested a Take a Sail Day perhaps this fall. Invite the public to come out and have a sail. Ben Hooks noted in the club’s previous life, they would invite the media out for a sail. It was a fun event, and good publicity for the club.
Ben Hooks – Verified that Jeremy Bogan was next on the list for a slip. He is still working on his boat, but it would be ready to go into a slip. The marina has received several calls about slips at the marina, it is understood that the club gets the first chance at an open slip. The mast crane needs some maintenance, it is currently stuck and not able to swing out which is needed to raise a mast. Also some of the wires are very rusty, and in need of replacement.
Steve Lowe – Gave update on John Owens condition. Suggested personally inviting him to one of the up coming third Friday socials.

New Business
Date for Steve Herber Turkey Fun Race:
Saturday, November 16th was set at the tentative date for the Steve Herber Turkey Fun Race. The Fall Regatta is currently scheduled for Oct 12th.
Upcoming Social Events:
John Springer will be out of town for the next Wednesday evening race scheduled for Wednesday 15th, but will be back for the following Wednesday evening race. The docks are currently at, or under water from the recent rains.
The next third Friday social will be held at the Salt Grass Steakhouse on May 17th, at 6:00 pm.
The next Saturday sailboat race is scheduled for May 18th.

The next meeting will be on Wednesday, June 12th, 2019, at noon, at F.D.’s Grill in Tyler.
