Spring Fling and Cheeseburger in Paradise Dock Party:

Due to many racers being out of town on the previous scheduled dates, The Spring Race, and the “Cheeseburger in Paradise Dock Party” has been rescheduled for April 30th. The Spring Fling Race will start at noon, with the starting line just off the docks of Lake Palestine Marina, rounding a mark in Mallard’s Bay, and back. The “Cheeseburger in Paradise” dock party will have a cookout starting at 6:00 pm, with time for socializing before hand.

Seminar on Electricity on Boats and Docks:

Mark Bartlett will offer a presentation on electrical safety on boats and docks. The event is currently scheduled for May 20th, with location to be determined. John Springer will present the ideal to Tyler Yacht Club, to see if they are interested in hosting at their location. Food could be catered in for that. Other possible locations are the restaurant “Smoke Monkey” where several meetings have taken place, or the President’s Room at Emerald Bay where the club often has their annual meeting at.

Overnight Raft-up:

An overnight raft-up is currently scheduled for November as it was decided it would still be too warm as originally scheduled in September. Any confusion on what types of boats could participate was cleared up. In the past cabin cruiser powerboats and even a houseboat have participated. Currently the club doesn’t have any primary power boaters or pontoon boaters as members, but they are welcomed to participate.

Date and Time of Next Meeting:

The next monthly meeting is scheduled for May 14th at Smoke Monkey Restaurant (Previously Purple Pig) at 11:00 AM.

Adjournment:

Motion to adjourn by John Springer, seconded by Rich Munson.
