MONTHLY MEETING MINUTES

Financial Report
The financial report was presented by John Springer.
Receipts:
Receipts through May 15th were $1,945.00, which are dues from twenty members and the purchase of a bur-gee and a ball cap. Note $100.00 of 2023 dues were received from a member in the prior year.
Disbursements:
Disbursements through May 15th were $1,269.57 and are summarized as follows.
Disbursements:
$548.09 Social – Membership Meeting and Spring Cup dock Party.
$450.00 Storage Locker.
$126.17 Phone.
$100.00 Barge Slip Rental.
$40.46 Equipment – Dock Lines and Stanchions for Notta Yachta.

Surplus/Deficit:
L.P.Y.C. has a cash surplus for the year of $675.43.
General Comments:
The cash balance at May 15th, 2023 is $17,001.54.
Officer and Director Reports.
Ben Hooks – Would like to have a meeting in October when all directors are back in town on sailboat race ratings. Will also retrieve the perpetual Spring Fling Race Trophy from previous year winner Bob Coker. He also mentioned the club might want to see about extra keys for the storage locker.
Brent Boyle – Suggested having spontaneous events during the summer, such as going out for sails that could be communicated via FaceBook or emails.
Ashley Tackett – Asked about the status of property currently known as “The Ruins” .
Old Business
Slip Waiting List:
David Kinsey – Not sure if boat would fit in any of the slips.
Steve Lowe – Inner larger slip should one become available.
Contact with New Upper Neches River Authority:
Steve Lowe has contacted David Kinsey in April, and is waiting for a reply. Ben Hooks is available in August to go to a meeting.
New Business
Upcoming Club Events:
May 19th Social – Brent Boyle will be hosting the May 19th Third Friday Social at his house. Fajitas and drinks will be served, and Ashley Tackett will be providing a sailing themed movie for entertainment. Brent will be sending out another email as a reminder.
June 3rd Maintenance Day – For the mast crane, Ben Hooks has bought new cable and cable lug nuts and are currently located in the club’s storage locker. John Springer will acquire paint and brushes for repainting the barge wood work. And a general cleanup of the club’s storage locker is also planned.
June 10th Spring Race Series – The last scheduled race series is scheduled for June 10th. Lynn Easley will send out a reminder as the date approaches.
Jun 16th Social – Ashley Tackett will check to see if Brookshire’s Fresh Store will be having a live music event that evening as a possible event for the club.
