MONTHLY MEETING MINUTES
Present at meeting: Ashley Tackett, Ben Hooks, John Springer, Brent Boyle, Peter Pitonak, Steve Lowe, Rich Munson, and Lynn Easley.
Call to order by Ashley Tackett.
Present Minutes from last meeting
The minutes were presented by Lynn Easley.
Motion to accept minutes by Brent Boyle, seconded by Ben Hooks.
Financial Report
Financial report was submitted by John Springer.
No deposits or expense changes since June.
Receipts:
Receipts through October 28, 2023 were $1,945.00, which are dues from twenty members
and the purchase of a bur-gees and a ball cap. Note: $100.00 of 2023 dues were received
from a member in the prior year.
Disbursements:
Disbursements through October 28, 2023 were $1,269.57 and are summarized as follows
$548.09 Social – Membership Meeting and Spring Cup Dock Party.
$450.00 Storage Locker.
$126.17 Phone.
$100.00 Slip Rental.
$40.46 Equipment – Dock Lines and Stanchions for Notta Yachta.
$4.85 Copies.
Surplus/Deficit:
L.P.Y.C. has a cash surplus for the year of $675.43.
General Comments:
The cash balance as of October 28, 2023 is $17,001.54.
Old Business
Slip Waiting List:
David Kinsey – Not sure if boat would fit in any of the slips.
Steve Lowe – Inner larger slip should one become available.
New Business
Discussion on Directors and Officers for 2024:
There are two director positions that are up for election in 2024. The positions are currently held by Peter Pitonak, and Lynn Easley. Both have indicated that they will run for reelection.
Ben Hooks will be stepping down from his current position. Steve Lowe said he was open to filling that position. The board appointed Steve Lowe to finish out Ben Hooks directors term with Ben Hooks presenting the motion, and Peter Pitonak seconding the motion. There were no nays for the motion.
For the 2024 officers positions, the board recommended officers are as follows.
Commodore Brent Boyle
Vice Commodore Steve Lowe
Treasurer John Springer
Secretary Lynn Easley
Upcoming Club Events:
November 4th Turkey Race and Dock Party:
Brent Boyle will send out email reminding users of the race and dock party. The race course will be the same one utilized in the past going from a starting line off the docks of Lake Palestine Marina, around a no wake buoy located in the entrance of County Line Inlet with a port rounding and back.
Skipper meeting will be at 11:00 at the Lake Palestine Marina docks with the race starting at noon.
Ashley Tackett will create a posting for the Facebook group for the event.
John Springer will handle the cooking for the dock party with the dock party starting around 5:00 pm.
Christmas Party:
The Presidents Room has been reserved at Emerald Bay for December 2nd. The party will begin around 6:00 and the menu will be similar to last year’s annual meeting as there will be another big party going on next door. A cash bar will be available for alcoholic drinks.
Annual Meeting:
A different location for a change was suggested for the annual meeting. Roma’s was suggested as they have a private room. That event will happen on the 3rd Saturday in January with a starting time at 6:00 pm.
Date and Time of Next Meeting:
The next monthly meeting in November was set for November 18th, at 11:45 at Clear Springs Restaurant.
