Receipts:
Receipts for the year 2024 through March 9thwere $1,545.00, which are dues from fifteen members and the purchase of ball caps.
Disbursements:
Disbursements for the year 2024 through March 9th were $1091.56 and are summarized as follows.
$500.00 Social – Membership Meeting.
$400.00 Storage Locker and Slip for Notta Yachta.
$181.98 Bur-gees.
$9.58 Copies.
Surplus/Deficit:
L.P.Y.C. has a cash surplus for the year through March 9th of $453.44.
General Comments:
The cash balance at March 9, 2024 is $17,065.42, which includes $9,370.50 from the capital fund.
Treasury’s report was accepted by Lynn Easley, and seconded by Peter Pitonak.
Officer and Directors Reports
Steve Lowe– Followed up on asking Ross Hayes if he would be interested in doing a presentation. So far no response on any of the communication attempts.
John Springer – Mentioned that Tyler Yacht Club will have a solar eclipse watch party and will check at their meeting, that members of L.P.Y.C could be invited to it.
Lynn Easley – Attempted some testing of the texting notifications of the GroupMe app that some of the directors are testing. No resolution of the texting notifications as of yet.

New Business
Suggested Dates for the Fall Race Series:
The dates of the fall race series previously proposed by Brent Boyle were reviewed for any possible contention with other currently scheduled events.
After reviewing, the dates for the fall series were set for Sept 7th, Sept 21st, Oct 5th, Oct 19th, Nov 2nd, and Nov 30th.
John and Kitty Springer’s St. Patrick Day Event:
John Springer said they were all set for the event and would be cooking up everything that Saturday.
April 6th Spring Cup and Dock Party:
Discussed the need to promote the event, as the dock party is usually one of the better attended events. There was also a discussion of who currently has the trophy. It was remembered that the team of Bob Coker and Ben Hooks won the last Spring Cup race and Ben Hooks was going to present it to Bob Coker as he was captaining Ben’s boat. John Springer also gave a short history of how the club obtained the trophy.
Review and Dissemination of Calendar Events:
Steve Lowe brought up the topic of reminding members of of club events. Currently events are posted to the club’s website. But it also would be good to have reminders for the members sent out.
Date and Time of April Meeting:
The April meeting was set for Saturday April 13h, at 11:30. Location suggested was Ebarb’s, formally known as Smoke Monkey.
