MONTHLY MEETING MINUTES
Present at meeting: Rick Walker, Dicksie Walker, John Owens, John Springer, Steve Lowe, Bob Pryor, Dana Adams, Paul Lohr, Dennis Lohr, and Lynn Easley
Call to Order by Rick Walker.
Present Minutes from last meeting
The minutes were presented and approved. Motion to accept by John Owens, seconded by Steve Lowe.
Financial Report:
Receipts for the year through March 8, 2014 were $2,300.00.
Cash balance is $21,232.22 and includes $14,087.50 in a capital reserve fund.
Twelve members who have paid dues in 2014.
One disbursements so far for the year are 339.12 for the January Membership Meeting
Motion to accept treasury report by John Owens, seconded Bob Pryor, all in favor.
Old Business
Plaques:
Still trying to present present a plaque to Monty. One possibility is to set up a meeting with him and have a group from the club present it to him. Another
possibility is presenting it to him at a Leadership Tyler meeting. Steve Lowe will check on the Leadership Tyler, and see if it would be possible to do a
presentation. Sponsorships are available, but the cost would not be something that would be worthwhile for the club.
Sea Scouts Interest:
In regards to a web inquiry from a leader of Sea Scout unit based out of Palestine last year. Dicksie Walker suggested contacting a sailing instructor and checking
on the availability and cost of doing a weekend instructor session with the Sea Scouts and possibly local Boy Scouts groups. Dicksie will contact an instructor
that she is familiar with and check on the possibilities.
New Business
Social Calendar:
Our new Social Director, Dana Adams will coordinate our third Friday of the month informal gathering. The suggestion was made to alternate the locations at
several Tyler restaurants.
The club set the sailboat race days suggested by Jim Stevenson who handles the record keeping. The following are the days for the races.
April 5th, and April 19th
May 3rd, and May 17th
June 7th, and June 21st
September 13th, and September 27th
October 4th, and October 18th.

With the impeding launch of the Walkers Morgan 28, the Walkers suggested having a mast raising and, or naming ceremony party for the event. More details
when the date gets closer.
Dana Adams and last years Social Coordinator Dicksie, will discuss social events for the upcoming year.
Next directors meeting will be scheduled for May, unless something pressing comes up.
